How to make a difference | Dr. JJ Dugoua, ND | Naturopathic Doctor in Toronto

Often, we forget how our health encompasses more than just our physical body.

Spiritual and mental health are vital for your well being, and it’s important we dedicate time and energy to making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Together, we are making a healthier world not just for ourselves, but also for future generations.

On this episode of Vitamin Junkeys, we discuss a few simple ways you can make a difference in the world.

From small things like smiling at a stranger on the street to larger steps like volunteering your time and energy to a larger cause, there are many ways you can take action and take care of the world around you.

Let’s look at some charitable organizations and events that make it easy, engaging, and fun for you to get involved.

What Is Me To We?

Founded in 2009, Me To We is an organization that aims to provide economic opportunity and sustainability to various communities across the globe.

Me To We organizes volunteer trips and works to create jobs, funds development projects, and helps to stabilize communities.

Make sure you check out their website – Me To We collaborates with over 1,800 craftspeople and makers, and their beautiful wares are available online.

It’s important to educate yourself on what other people are experiencing, even on the other end of the Earth.

Bike Shorts To Fight Cancer

Bike shorts aren’t just the new fashion trend of today.

They’re also a tool in the fight against cancer, led by The Ride to Conquer Cancer.

Although this year’s Conquer Cancer bicycle fundraiser was in June, make sure you sign up for their newsletter for more information on next year’s event.

When I participated and biked along with over 1000 riders, we collectively raised $14 million for the fight to end cancer.

We biked 250km over the span of 2 days, and although it was hard work we were rewarded with the scenic views between Toronto and Niagara Falls.

The proceeds of the Ride to Conquer Cancer benefit the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre here in Toronto, and if you can’t attend the actual event, you can also participate as a Virtual Rider.

This organization is not just a weekend of cycling – it’s a global group of people who are committed to working together to end cancer.

Although it may seem daunting to have a lofty fundraising goal, you may be surprised by how eager your community is to support such an important cause.

Making A Difference

From treating others with kindness every day to participating in a fundraising effort for one of Canada’s many important charities, there are so many ways you can get involved in making the world a better place.

In order for change to occur, we all need to stand up and take action.

Get active, connect with your community, and get involved – it will not only enrich your life, but also the lives of those around you.
